Thank you Dave here's what's on our WWL. Talked table for the flowery asking your thoughts your approval rating. On new governor Edwards also talked about Donald Trump when it comes to be and president of the United States. And foreign affairs is Donald Trump the app salute president that we need or do you think you would be the worst possible thing. I'm anxious to see with the results are at that aren't like when he said today I asked him who would he consult. War foreign affairs that he said. An insult myself but talk to myself. I'm very Smart OK. Okay. I mean he's got access or would have us obviously. The best we've got is flowers military. For an offenders and in our advisors. To him but he said himself and yet you know you can say what you wanna bundle up the like him or not. He really has brought blow a lot of people. Into the political process like me that I'm I'll always waited. Until the Republicans have a nominee yeah Democrats side that was it. I'd never seen that it's just there's an excitement. There's people angry it's just you know it's happening and I've I've watched every debate where I never watched them before. That's Leah after greatly thank today if they're all right and also we're talking about the passion and let's I think I have I'm the go to Brent. Brent you want to talk about the passion. Yeah good morning Bob. I just wonder if they had people call and I'm and in Nevada cal Perry in. What he did you know they bought it in dialogue that you bought eleven do. And though it could apparently the only future. I was gonna totally blows. You know if there's any need very very bad right now on the people who have been job and they've gone on and we need that. Yeah it doesn't matter what would be acquitted in easily brought the word of god and law police and. I think I think you're I think you're right Reynolds got a couple of text messages saying that that myself on the people of been too negative about this is not this not be negative. It's just I I anticipated. More of a visual ending for the crucifixion and the resurrection that's a but I thought I thought was an excellent excellent production all over. All right 12 minutes after. 8 o'clock we will look come back aboard your phone calls and text messages after the break at WW. And I'm Bob Mitchell in for Tommy at 16 minutes after 8 o'clock or being so many pretty drag were opinion poll question do you approve or disapprove. On the job John Bell Edwards is doing. 30%. Approve a WW dot com and seventy do not approve the league to support. And we have a a special guest right now what's and ensure overnight for a up professor of political science at you and low. A professor thank you for being on the show this morning. Now that this new poll about the governor Edwards at although what's up nine points. It's only at 43%. Is that good. Well that's pretty tepid support. You know for a new governor usually the you assume that they would be enjoying a honeymoon period where people would be giving him the benefit of the doubt. We're facing here serious financial difficulties and more of the remedies that the governor's offer to tax increases and of course. That could be an area popular with a lot of people. You know of listened to to Garland talk about things and so many times and in pre brings up just an excellent point that is. People are saying while we want a balanced budget. Hand but don't cut don't cut any of our programs and don't raise our taxes. And most of the time a combination of both is required if you're going to have a balanced budget. That looked north operational rules them that people. You know he's he's support this particular project you know do you support the say fire setting an environmental. Programs are spending on defense. We're standing and say you know economic support programs you say yes. But then of course you're right they want a balanced budget and they don't want to pay for in my lower taxes and so this is just a feature that we find. And public opinion. Where do you think things are going to go with the stated that seems to be just for someone who try to pay attention things that at this point you know the legislature. They wanna be reelected so they don't wanna increase too many taxes. And they don't wanna increase programs because that's what people want and where are they gonna go vols are we re going to get. Can we get a balanced budget with out a raising taxes and cutting of programs. And the authority and deficit for this year seven million dollars deficit and projector for 800 million dollars for next year so. The only way you're gonna reduce that gap has either you have to slash funding for programs. Or you're gonna have to raise some revenue or a combination of both and of course most of the cuts and on higher education. When it comes to programs like like Medicaid is that a totally state financed project or does the federal government help with the. Medicaid is primarily federally financed program the bulk of the money. Comes from Washington means it comes out of our taxes which sent to Washington and sent back to. But I imagine salaries and stuff like that are the State's responsibility. Typically that this state raises money that the federal government matches that money so we we get that kind of a doubling effect. Now from many people still blame. Governor Jindal for all of us it is. Did did did did Edwards just didn't inherit all these problems from jungle and he's got to stock in the middle try on the take and get us out of this mess. We have to remember that he's the financial mess we find it says and this has been years in the making. That. You know there was a refusal to. Raise revenue. That a number of trust funds were swept to help fill that budget deficit and all that money is now gone and so you know obviously the current governor has inherited that mess and so it's his responsibility to deal with it. I'm Andrew in the rainy day fund has been long gone on her. That is long that's correct. What do you think the next up the governor's going to date. Well. He's gonna have to convince people. That painful measures are necessary. We've basically had a free ride for the last eight years. He basically said that he's going to be very honest. About where we are in the budget and that. You know people may not like what he has to say but he's probably gonna say it and of course that's probably what's affecting is that his approval rating. And don't take a break him to come back to you you have to I'm sure all right we'll take a quick break 20 minutes after 8 o'clock a traffic don't know you well. And I'm Bob Mitchell and Tommy Tucker it's 45 minutes after 8 o'clock completed 74 ready drag where opinion poll question do you approve. But disapprove of the job John Edwards is doing is double 31%. Approve and 69%. This and we're speaking to Ed Sherman like president a professor. On a budget the president to a couple of just to be a part of the race today. When when you looked at what's going on right now. That the spores of Ellsbury started talking before the break that. We have to we have to make cuts somewhere. Or we gonna continue to operate in the oh where do you. I mean what do you see if if if you were in the governor picture. What's the what's the next up or are we ever going to be able to get a balanced budget with out raising taxes. We have to have about budget the system that can potentially mandated to do so. It and that if they're not gonna be an effort to raise revenues the only way then is to slash funding for government programs. And we have but we have to get beyond just cutting higher education and and health care which are the two most vulnerable areas of the budget because. They're not protected. You know by statutes or you know constitutional protections so then it comes down to removing those publications. On the parts in the budget that protected and and slashing funding there. Now you know hall while the public thinks more wealth thing to wave at. That there's a lot of waste. In in the Louisiana budget what would you look at is there's still a lot of waste. I suppose there's probably some programs there that are wasteful the problem is does. Is that enough to reduce 800 million dollar deficit and it's hard for me to envision that there's 800 million dollars worth of waste and fraud. In the budget some of it is. You know. Very vital. You know don't just again throw higher education out there. You know we were basically cut down to the bone and we cut anymore. You know we're not gonna be viable and I you know higher education institutions. The governor made the statement I don't know more than he's still holding milled about on what one time he said. Well they'll show football want to ago. Well except that I just more scare tactic than anything else but you know this that was really what. Concentrate people's minds about that's the financial crisis in the states. Because. We've been told voters to budget deficit is a serious problem. Seemed to really catch people's attention that statement that. That that is not going to cut the main beat you couldn't. You could vote to shut down the state capital than people think that's okay but you not gonna cut Ellis shoot four. I had to sit down policy as well but that's like the but as I mentioned. It did capture people's attention and now they're focused on. But this situation in that range and any closer to make. Well it'll be and see where it went legislature goes. In this particular recession think. This is a non revenue a year in the end the session they can't raise revenue so they're gonna have to come up with taxes. So the question is whether they're gonna have another special session to deal with the revenue side of the equation. Thank yet appreciate you're a college in the morning thank you that's a server like crushed a professor of political science at UN though. What are your thoughts on John Bell and would you like the job he's doing so far is he doing what you expected. Or do you still think that all of this goes on the shoulders. A former governor Bobby Jindal and also we're still talking about the passion got a lot of reaction to that of the show last night let me read this text message. My wife and I enjoy the passion very much she said the people find something to complain about I thought no way I'm amazed to discover that she was right. Not enough suffering did you listen to the description of Christ died. Use your imagination it would have been more graphic there's no bell more people complained about that you want graphic and violent watched the local news. None of about the resurrection the jury hear the crowd we act of the third day. They got did you yes did you see Jesus on the building in a windstorm negative people can't be pleased. I don't think it's a no with myself and only can be negative I don't see it as negative is just took what I would prefer. That's dollar preferred deceit a little more. I just detail on all on the crucifixion and resurrection but you know. Overall. A law of the music. The fact that it was done in a modern thing today I thought was good especially. Four of the younger generation to see that a thought some little twist they use work in of the New Orleans Police Department. Of Jesus away. And rather than have but. The fleet of these on the cross of he'd decided Jesus. That conversation took place in the paddy wagon a group to bring in to I guess an old media headquarters. So we're gonna add a couple of things to the show to a talk about the morning we'll be talking all the little miracle. Matt this network. The mythical. Medical marijuana Janis I have and I can have a script real quick like and when you do it in California with a total had to get a strip. That's it must leagues and edit UBS brat so it takes. And we don't talk about do you think some people are too quick to run to divorce. I'll on new solar rays as thirty allowed serve a moment. Surveys and polls keep going all the time guerrillas all of us what we love 42 we live for Russia to get out of all the time. And anyway this when says 38%. Of people think divorce is the best option would Americans on the rocks and caring. Do you agree not counseling or anything I would I don't know lasted moan if you've gotten a divorce what was the experience like for you view of him. Been through one of these via picture and it was an up close. I can tell you about Ohio its idea I've described it might description was an octopus. A because there're so many tentacles that it never seems to end. Nine was panda hand column I'll get it up. But now and that the divorce divorce is a rough thing but it looks like it looks like nowadays. The people just very quick to get a divorce. Try to make it quick right against stretch it out on and it's a much easier now. Now and I think we have no fault abortion instantly. I believe we yes yes it's that the whole concept I think for a lot of couples as they they want it to be smooth and easy. And often they start that way and and if months that lawyers got involved in my case it was a bad news it it becomes the battle between the two lawyers and write an ugly and ugly. Thank today right do you. Do you think the people to quit to run to divorce court if you probably at 504 to six generally that it will take a break given comeback on W dot DO. 845 while Vettel and or comic book of more help for flood victims starting today food assistance center opens in 23 pair refused declared federal disaster. We have all the details about where when and how to get disaster food assistance at WW dot com. And at 9:10 in the morning were going to be talking to Stephen Hillary. With the DC office Clinton and Lendl a lot of information you need to know. As we'd like the show but the technical talk about a Putin still talking about the fashion. If he's on the fashion last night what was your opinion. Text message of the best. Part about the production of the fashion last night it has everyone talking about it and talking about Jesus of the positive light. And that's all you ten ask for so we put your thoughts on the fashion that we happy with a did you find it. Maybe a little difficult to watch the like it was done in in modern times which. Which was really really different and it was if you did not see at. It was done in today's tough and so people war in old jeans and jackets. And no one world robes and and sandals. It took me a little time to get used to that. Once again into what I thought which it says several of warning about the music was incredible there is a little. Back and forth some people think like lead the book ending to the bin a little more than that gives it a little bit more. Time talking about the course of action in the resurrection but that did not. Not stop me from fame the show was over. That really enjoyed it and I also review talked about merit medical marijuana. Last year the state legislature. Approved a bill that gives Louisiana residents legal access to medical matter wanna. But it's still not available with a statement pushed legislation so it more nurse entrepreneur mills of the Department of Agriculture. Along with a a couple of the groups are still working on the details. Of effectiveness now available. Some people are moving to other states that do. So is it time for the straight to dinner together so that people where prescriptions. Medical marijuana to buy it right here in which they also talking about the divorce. At this point 38%. Of people flee. At what marriage is on the books and deservedly. And emphasizes that people agreed to get a divorce you agreement that that you've been through a divorce. Do you regret your actions today and is divorced always the worst thing for any children. Involved my divorce was long long long long. I would go to Mary and a very very young. Got a divorce and I never regret it. Not what's Bible port 60 one late seventy. I'm Bob Mitchell in for Tommy Tucker we will take a break. Traffic. Haven't talked feel whole bunch more right after this at WWL. And Bob Mitchell in for Tony Tucker Tony week we'll be back with you are with eight if deport you watch. The passion. Last night on fox. Lot of good reaction to the passions and most people fun though it was excellent I do have a text message on that. I did not pick me your ego a lot of interest in the Jesus and this is liable for a color books. I didn't put them at all. Anyway his one Bob I prefer to leave religion and religious shows in churches. We're also talking about marriage and at and divorced August. You can pick whatever you talk about talk of animal. So we you know. As we go into that I'll continue to take your calls the passion. And with divorce it's like a very simple question. Do you think that too many people rush in to divorce. While on a on a new poll. Asking of the force of the best solution within a matter of going bad the news services 38% agree. It's actually down from what was a couple of years ago but you've got a divorce. What was the experience like. Are you glad you've got a divorce. You regret it. And if you married how do you work through the rough stretches what would keep few. From from running to divorce court the year that the xmas and that I think people see marriage. As they disposable relationship. It's easier to get out of the deal with the problems and that and keep it strong. I think there's some some truth to that statement stated each other. While they got a divorce and annulment it was the best thing that ever happened to us although we lost everything. Let's go to blow William William thank you for calling WWL. Gordon yeah a couple of grand. So it blocked the pat are worried and they're a fictional revolt so new court it from there are. My spiritual question he had prior art. You know this story. You'd have the pot. And so is like where the cock growing I didn't talk. Yeah I picked up on that tonight did not do the cock early right. Attach. Bombs. Is saying that might actual area where they go a lot of sexual. We spared tactic we love it I did. It it's moderate predicted the market. Yeah tactical. It was. That got a musical glee. So. I switched. The ball back but now what. They were very. I doubt. Of industry or. That I. That the rule what they call. Yeah it is yeah. And I thought be putting. Well like you. There what's that. I I I think Tyler Perry and did a great job and it was a I think it was wonderful having him over and over mentioned the fact that this was coming live from New Orleans. Oh every well you're right so great I mean it was and barbers we all played. At Bechtel would. Out there do this week anyway and not not with Kyle Perry because they do it because they think well now. But standing. That you know there. Now I'm I must admit I did expect and this is on I don't perceive this is being negative because I'm on overall like the show. But I'd I did expect in the end to see them put Jesus on the cross. May be that it crops but like I did expect to see them on stage. I kept thinking that they would understand it up and then I get their head on the little. They got up there would have been crazy out there that thing was forty feet tall or something. Involving so well but all of them. People who knows what that. Well that's ahead at what I had to use a different cross across television Tuesday. Yet. That would bring your. That was important about it is horrible and so we you know. Been portrayed well look what these multiple. I I like the fact that. It's caused people to talk about it and it it it. I if I think doing it the way they did it with a B and and and in today's. Error that it it probably was better to reach more of the younger people. Egypt's leader upon that someone who didn't about the water or looking on and get that. I didn't. Find it may harm and steps that civil about that. Remember that this cycle rolls its sister yeah. Right I take it the world that they were just I'm people like you to meet. With people. And unlike unlike the act alike the fight to the last supper was purchased from a food truck but at that. Great read them all know. It's my ya Oprah it was that. That's all right William thank you for phoning in OK thank. All right that Yemeni comments on all the passion. You can call me at 504 to six generally it's somebody who future ready to go right after the Copley or WWL.
