Now Tommy Tucker WW LA MI famine dot com and I'd so I didn't see it that apparently I DL full field Tonya Harding. The Tonya Harding began when she did it had to do a redo as a mean place. Sometimes when I'm sorry just thought the. Controversy broker stringer something's. An answer sheets underdogs that's okay because she wanted to get it right. Yeah it was important issue pregnant I'm not trying to be bought a Dell Teddy here yet doubtful ought to snow queen me. Beyoncé now. I do is use it to us just like having I don't know and what am I wanna talk and just I was just wondering if you know on. And odds in my memory surgery she's always little you know. President trump may wanna duel over because they get a new Gallup poll out that gives him a 40% approval rating which. Yeah I think 40% of people like me handle pretty well but then again you know I have a negative image to go I mean. 55% disapprove that's as of Saturday in usually a president hand as. Our honeymoon. Yeah out where you get that but almost automatic Kristi dispatch high dissidents around 60% net. It's not happening so I think I would ask you do you think Donald Trump's approval ratings are gonna go well. Are they gonna continue to go down and tell me why either way were also talking about. The traffic choke points in the area once it is here attacks I twelve a picture of funk to reverend Richard pompous slow down. So that we began with the Crescent City connection since they too are the told. Classes a tollbooth down. And now when I come over there's no real. Traffic but it does seem confusing to me with one Wayne merging and the other before you know it. An anti if you drive primetime you know drive time morning drive rush out on a crescent can actually know if it works and if there any epic choke points I'd like to nowhere and Taylor. And let me know about Donald Trump he's thinking need to keep doing what he's due owner should eat. Maybe change tactics especially if you voted for him Jeff McCall professor of media studies at DePaul University joins us right now on Morningstar. Good morning thanks for taking the time win this. People hitting it very angry right now they voted for Donald Trump but a lot of media outlets are saying that last week. Was not a real good week for the administration. From. Is it growing pains is is as president and his administration and eventually get it together where there's smooth. Running machine. Well targets saying you know one of the things in terms of how the media has covered trump does. We know that trump has antagonized the media it not only company is step in many ways to antagonize the media. They can't be surprised necessarily want a lot of reporters in the White House in the Washington press corps in a wanna go after him. But on the other hand it in a lot of the problems with the trump administration have been self inflicted. In terms of messaging. And also I think it's probably not helpful that trumpet so to law and try to set the news agenda with his tweets. Which come off that but rather untethered at times so I'm not sure that he helped the situation. And I do think the White House has a lot of growing to do in terms of how to stay on message and get their messages out there and I think picking fights with the press to continually. Probably doesn't really help anything. Even though the president probably not likely to be as much in love and trump ever as they might have been with Obama. It's a first step to maybe stop talking about the voter fraud stop looking back and start looking forward. I think that the great point. I think they need to focus on what they're doing good copper. And not worry about what happened you know several weeks ago our. Which news organization may be scold them or maybe didn't give them fair shake. And I think every time they start talking about things other than what they're doing going forward they're losing. I think he knows it's trump follow voters I think react on it two ways either get mad at the messenger. Or in my case. Yeah he's the president and it's time to start acting like it and I just wonder if he ever will or not or if he'd just this is him and that's what you get nets coach you're always gonna get. Well I you know there are two things to consider here one is. Trump got catapult it into the white Alps in large part I think because he was willing to take on the establishment generally and that includes the mass media which. And in the views of many voters are in the country is part of the establishment site think. In one regard having taken on the press and battered them during the campaign worked it is advantage. And a good number of people who support trump are happy to see him battle with the press. On the other hand now that you are in the White House. You've got the biggest platform in the world ligature on messages out there and you can go directly to the American people any number of ways. That tweeting it probably not the best one but there are a lot of ways to get your message out. So I think. Having the press officers and the administrative spokesman and trump himself continuing to beat up on the press probably doesn't help on that much. Because I would say it you're doing what you're supposed to be doing to govern a nation and the press is not treating fairly you'll get an up sympathy from your voters and supporters just in that regard. Before we get to Michael Flynn is there really. Anything Donald Trump could have done. To have the media on his side. Well I don't think so when you get right down to it. You know the presses just. And it can be pretty much that trump got elected that they didn't see it coming. And trump pretty much stands for most things that people in the press non speaking generally young but generally when you look at the press. They lean left. They're probably more sympathetic to the Clinton's supporters in the Obama administration. And they and I'm sure they don't like that trump tags them and called them crooked. And so I I don't know that he could've ever gotten. You know a truly. Impartial treatment from the press but but having said that I still think they should try to be there and professional about their coverage of Obama. And and honestly look at it keep a tropical excuse me but it's been eight years source that. But do you think that you know if you watch the show like Good Morning America. You know the lead hostess George Stephanopoulos. He's a close friend of the clintons and he you know you're just not gonna get a fair shake out of a show like that because. Pretty much everything trump stand for and has said. A guy like George Stephanopoulos as opposed. So I think you probably never gonna get a real fair shake that prompt need to understand that and to recognize that he needs to govern instead of just beat up the media all the time. Kellyanne Conway does a little impromptu commercial Mike Hansen no no bomb shots Clijsters says she was counseled the president. Basically says UN council that all he backed terror. Hum and two this week they roll out I forgot his name is Steve Miller out yet. Who'll. Seems to be a very sharp thirty something year old take no prisoners approach. And numb I don't know is he going to be the face of the drug administration from now on when it comes of the Sunday morning shows and how do you think Sean Spicer is still on as a spokesperson. I think speicher probably doing OK I think he's doing what he's been told to do that is to get out there try to messages that speak as best he can't. Other Miller guy union knows and this test run yesterday that the most people didn't recognize him before but he with the people the mean in that regard he. He follows the trumps strategy. And Kellyanne Conway. Her remarks about the gogel and going to buy bonds Ibaka is the clothing was. Ill advised but I'm not sure it's a great big believe there I mean it would it was impromptu clearly and it was not a good thing bird do. But I think it's time to move on honestly I think Kellyanne Connolly is a pretty good spokesperson for trump for the most part. She's able to go. Adding that. Exe even corrected Chuck Todd on. And Meet the Press segment I think on what it was that he was doing and why shouldn't he be doing this not be doing that senator says it. It Kellyanne Connolly is very well background and very poised and she's not afraid to get in there and mix it up. So does it matter ultimately what the press does or says because it seems like. The people that love Donald Trump Bergen always lobbying the people hate him are gonna always need him. And is there anything that he could accomplish its gonna sway either side media coverage. None dumb did not being considered. Well. They again getting back to the you know the mission of the trump administration that they've got a lot of bigger fish to fry than whether the media's on their side I think ultimately that trump administration will be judged. By whether the economy is stable weather national security move forward. And whether they can just govern rather than whether the media's attacking them. And things like the economy go well and trumps seemed to seemed to seek to get a handle on his cabinet appointments and I think probably a lot of people around the country that supported proper happy with the Supreme Court nominee. And so he can prove that he can govern it won't matter that much what the media says about it because. But state that the media was all over George Bush promote that is eight years. And he got re elect. I think asks a question and I clumsy kind of way I guess Saddam Hussein is is there anyway the media. With a negative treatment of the president diminish anything. Then he does be it national security economy or whatever. Com so that even success by him the media spends a failure and as a result it does affect his reelection chances for example. You know it might begin of the media has shot itself in the foot so much over the last 1520 years in the credibility for the national press's very low. And so I think that citizens really kind of went over the top of the press to elect trump in the first place so I'm not sure that it. A steady drumbeat of negative press is necessarily gonna affect Trump's reelection chances because. Most of the people who voted for trump don't trust the media at the start with. And I don't think they will trust the media as long as they keep beaten him up on. And it seems like if they beam up it's gonna have do reverse reaction where it's gonna unite them even more with Donald Trump and make him a victim almost. And I think the media that has plenty of reason to criticize trump and as you know carefully scrutinize his decisions. But they can't make it just the total drumbeat of nothing positive if you look at just the last week in the coverage of the cabinet appointment. If you looked at the media coverage. On the you know NBC nightly news in those places you would think that there wasn't a single cabinet member who had a single qualification it was all controversy. And all just a bunch of criticism from the Democrats who are criticizing. The trump appointments and meet some of these people that they have a redeeming quality or trump what the appointment and I think that's where the public probably gets disenchanted with the press. And even with the anchors and reporters settlement can be communicated with the intonation of what they say ovaries I'd grow and what report yet. Professor appreciate you time I really deal become that I don't immigrate dame professor Jeff McCall. A professor media studies at DePaul University Bynum here on this over the weekend or not it was a kind of I would think unnerving moment. Two passengers on United Airlines flight from Austin to San Francisco did hear something about us. Some money goes and personal and political orient. Who's ultimately removed from the flight. And the lady was. Com asked if she should change into uniform. They choose our she was gone through it do wars. Com and she started off saints he would not voted for either trumpeter Clinton because they're much of liners. And standing up addressing him as the airplane last arrangement as that was the pilot. Well. All year now apparently lady Ahmadabad today. And those of us have been to voice and you can have those right. At ticket. And expect everything and the cockpit that's a little scary airedale and they dates who plays out yeah but. I think those of us that have been divorced no there are days when you shouldn't be behind the controls. And armed with thanks and other stress well. So here's a thing not ready jaguar opinion goal. Is asking you does the media treat president trump fairly or unfairly. 19% saying fairly. 81% saying unfairly the Gallup poll has president fronts approval rating at an all time low for him at 40%. The Rasmussen. Poll which is a daily poll has is approval rate at 53. A little more rock concert organizers say is we're gonna do I'm an open lines right now because I'm getting so many tech's stated from people's and it. And voter who pulled me. There's and it like that I might be at odds it Godwin and nobody told me hey anybody call me about this. Say is German duo blow up the phone lines only gets like reverse poll you don't mean. Alec you to call me at 2601870. And tell me if you approve or disapprove of president trump and tell me. Lives. That's how you pronounce it you know and by the way I notice what you've been doing. With that dam disaster. I know you do one. Is down a curse word and am openly in the open nobody will catch it. Voter fraud is a serious problem in this country. You have millions of people who are registered in two states who are dead were registered to vote and you have 14% of non citizens according to. Academic research. Added at a minimum. Are registered to vote which is an astonishing statistic. Stephen Miller White House advisor that's your ABC's this week Tommy Tucker DeVon WL. 74713. From each of those fifty states says it didn't have any air so somebody's line somewhere. OK do your body to your advantage in camp oh all that. That you but I you have Kelly and a wrap of the president of the. Now Iowa and I would. Very good time comment will suggest to be on a spokesman. After the what he's going to not question present state match. I wonder why you comment. I would he say that he's got yesterday and here. And we of the Byron fearless. This can be very disappointed the people protesting the president and the people in congress. Like senator Schumer who attacked the president for his lawful and necessary action. The president's power here are beyond question. Now like a new Nike and here and take notes on everything I think you're brilliant and we're all forward it would put current do you know. It is strong message and make it why be so shall. If you deal with him you know and on that. I think Digg I think everybody should question Nike when it when they have a question the president Supreme Court the congress whomever the mayor whatever it is you know I mean I got in particular and Hitler Sonya thanks well a damn body ever pull you damning. OA's powers beyond question when it comes to comes and they country and travel ban on all land. And attacks comes and dances how could you not have heard that part of Sullivan talking about on a morning news nationally gimme a break Tommy your selective hearing. That's not it what it is is apparently it's beyond question she has a courses stop it. So it's just rhetoric to me and I just ignore it kind of stuff finance why I didn't really pay any attention to it Lloyd New Orleans morning and Devin WL. I think import from ours and pretty yeah. Well let me just say this. Dark during the media campaign aren't really expected. Because I really felt like this Amanda says what he's doing what yeah. Now that we caught him and I'll be lies and he really and his response to getting caught me and I'm like a little cry they. You know oh it all the mutant like their line. I mean think about this with his administration with him three days. To come up with a term alternative chip back. Okay. This demand is the only person in the country with its finger. On nuclear code yellow part that it started in your wish. Another country don't you think the American public should be able chart report that that is do you have a legitimate worry about that. You know at duke. Partly due to. I do because look at the candidate that that and want to argue about. Now and saint hat or people attended the inauguration than Barack Obama did. OK so now that you do something. Could have and how far will ego. Yeah I don't I don't I am I seeing where you go with I don't agree with you and I know that you're right around right but I just can't leave and let it be that crazy but I really don't I'm glad you called Lloyd. And the day 960187. Ian takes guns and what lies while he talked about more people being it is. Inauguration. And the mall being awful apparently wasn't BP's sealed that the grounds open and from the voter fraud need continues to push there was another one to Oregon. Donald Trump. Forgot exactly with the third one was intently kind of Waco in chemical that'll turn effects and we will continue. The discussion and we'll also talk about the state budget when we come back under the WL.
